THE KPONE-KATAMANSO DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ORGANISES A THREE DAY RECORDS MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR STAFF

Facilitators from the Public Records and Archives Administration Department (PRAAD) as part of its mandates honoured an invitation to train staffs of the Kpone-Katamanso District Assembly through a two-day workshop in proper records keeping and management.

This training workshop was necessitated by the fact that the Assembly lacked experienced Registry staff who can manage the Unit efficiently. Moreover, the staff currently working in the Unit were all newly recruited and lacked the necessary technical knowledge and this was gradually negatively impinging on the records management of the Assembly.

The Facilitators, Michael and his Assistant, took time to take the trainees through the various steps and at the end of the training, promised to return to physically set up the structure. This promise was however, dependent on the fact that, the Assembly would have found an appropriate space for such an exercise.

The DCD, Mr Mohammed A. Yakubu, in his closing remarks during the training appealed to the PRAAD official to bear with the Assembly in it temporary office space constraint and manage to set up the structure in the office space currently being used by the Unit. He also went further to state that, he believed that, with the training his officers were now in a position to effectively manage the “brain” of the Assembly.
