PROFILE OF HON. ALHAJI E. A. TETTEH

-D.C.E. FOR KPONE – KATAMANSO DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

Hon. Alhaji Eesa Antiaye Tetteh, but simply known in private life as Alhaji E. A. Tetteh is a Ga and an indigene of Kpone on Sea was born on 15th January, 1947 in Kpone on Sea. He attended Kpone Local Authority Middle School in the year 1954 to 1963. He is a driver by profession since 1965 and married to three (3) wives with sixteen (16) children. He is a practicing Moslem.

Education

Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh, is a Trade Unionist but more specifically, he is a Trades Union Congress Trainee from Russia where he studied and attained a Diploma from the University of Trades Union in Russia in 1985. He undertook a number of training in various professions and notable among them include; • Training in Financial Accounting at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2009 • Training in Financial Accounting at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 1998 • Training at Management Development Productivity Institute (MDPI) from 1983 to 1985 • A National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Certificate holder in Accra in 1981.

Working Life

Before his appointment as a District Chief Executive of Kpone – Katamanso District Assembly, Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh, had served on a number of boards and also worked with some institutions in Ghana. These include the following: • Member of Steering Committee for Urban Transport in Accra from 2012 to date • Board Member for Ghana Road Fund from 2009 to date • Board Member for Accra Polytechnic from 2009 to date • National Vice Chairman for Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) from 2007 to 2012 • Member of the Committee that drafted the LI 2180 on Road Transport Union from 2007 to 2012 • Board Member for Electricity Company of Ghana (E.C.G.) from 1997 to 2000 • Regional Chairman of GPRTU of the Trades Union Congress from 1991 to 2012 • First Trustee for GPRTU of the Trades Union Congress from 1983 to 1987 • Member of the Committee for the drafting of the Association of Local Union in 1982 • Member of the Committee for Transport Improvement under the Ministry of Transport and Communication in1982 • Branch Chairman for GPRTU of the Trades Union Congress from 1982 to date • Local Chairman for GPRTU of the Trades Union Congress from 1974 to 1982

Political Life

During the working life of Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh, he also took part in political activities in Ghana from the grassroot to the national level and notable among them include the following: • Government Appointee to the Tema Metropolitan Assembly from 2009 to 2012 • Government Appointee to the Tema Metropolitan Assembly from 1996 to 2000 • Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Kpone – Katamanso Constituency from 1996 to 2000 • Gold Membership Card for the National Democratic Congress in 2002 • National Executive Member of the National Democratic Congress from 1992 to 1996 • Acting Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress from 1992 to 1996. • Regional Member of the National Democratic Congress from 1992 to 1996

Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh, a humble and affable man is currently the District Chief Executive for Kpone – Katamanso District Assembly and was appointed into office by H. E. John Dramani Mahama in September 2012. His greatest desire in his appointment as D.C.E. is hard work, commitment to duty and utmost co-operation from staff and Assembly members in creating initiatives and harnessing the needed resources for the development of the Kpone – Katamanso District.

To a large extent, Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh is totally committed to creating initiatives for youth employment, infrastructure development, addressing environmental and sanitation problems as well as helping to improve the conditions of people living in the District as enumerated in the Better Ghana Agenda.
